NAU '

In 2013, the Gardaland amusement park, where Palablù was also located, was acquired by a well-known British company, Merlin SPA. Immediately declared itself against the maintenance of cetaceans in a controlled environment, pronounced the immediate closure of the dolphinarium and the subsequent transfer of the dolphins to a national authorized facility. Naù was the second Palablù's dolphin to be transferred to the Genoa Aquarium: a year earlier, at the end of 2012, Teide had already been transferred in total safety. Upon her arrival, Naù met an adult dolphin named Linda, who has resided in the structure since 2006. In a short period of time, once the dolphins of the former Palablù were all transferred to the Aquarium of Genoa, and with the arrival of four other dolphins (Alfa, Sole, Luna and Lapo) from the Rimini Dolphinarium, the Cetacean Pavilion was inaugurated in the summer of 2014, a complex of new and larger tanks that would be the new habitat for dolphins. A few months later, Naù gave birth to her first and only baby, on September 1st. The calf will then be called Goccia.

Naù proved to be an excellent and loving mother and it wasn't long before mother and daughter were introduced with Teide, the baby's father, and the other dolphins. A few years later, on May 28, 2020, Naù's companion, Teide, was found lifeless in the medical tank: the causes of death, unfortunately, are still unknown. It was not long before Naù, on September 11 of that same year, also died due to the presence of kidney stones. The adult female, in fact, had been under constant treatment and antibiotics for about a month, after they had encountered a further difficulty in feeding and continuous behavioral alterations.

Naù was a female bottlenose dolphin, born on October 28, 2001 at the Palablù in Gardaland. Her parents are Betty and Robin: her mother is a native of Florida, where she was captured in 1983, while her father was born in Cuba, where he was captured in 1989.

Naù's childhood focuses on the company of her parents and an older male dolphin named Teide. Naù was the first dolphin to be successfully born in Palablù: in the following years, in fact, Tango (31 March 2005) and Mia (28 December 2008) were born.

Naù created a very close bond with his brother Tango: on his death in October 2008 due to a gastrointestinal problem, the relationship with his sister Mia became even more important for Naù, who thanks to the parental care of her mother acquired a lot of experience in the parenting field.
