Micha is a male bottlenose dolphin perhaps born in 1986 and then captured on July 10, 1988 in the waters of the island of Cuba. Initially transferred to the Dolphinarium in Riccione, the number of dolphins was starting to become excessive. Therefore, Micha was selected to be transferred to the Genoa Aquarium in 1993, together with a dolphin named Bonnie, originally from Cuba and captured with him. The stay in Genoa, however, became temporary. A year after the move, in 1994, Bonnie gave birth to her first calf. Maternity gave the female a very protective character and every attempt at Micha's curiosity towards the little calf caused him constant repercussions from Bonnie. In addition, the stress caused by the constant aggression of the female caused Micha to become obsessed with biting the rocks in the tank often, causing some damage to his teeth and jaw. Therefore, on May 27, 1995 he was transferred to the Aquatic World in Cattolica, while Bonnie remained at the Aquarium of Genoa with his little daughter, Cleo. His arrival at Oltremare in Riccione took place between 2004 and 2005, where he would reunite with Bonnie and her offsprings. Following the death of the dominant male, Bravo, on February 15, 2008, the role passed to Micha. In the following years, he mated with the two currently sexually mature females, Cleo and Blue. Although the babies conceived with Cleo had to live up to less than a month after birth, Blue gave birth to two times. Zeus, the eldest son of Blue and Micha, was born on July 2, 2010. Four years later, on August 9, 2014, their second child, Taras, was born.
