MIA
Mia is a female bottlenose dolphin born on December 28, 2008 at the Palablù in Gardaland. Her parents are Betty and Robin. His entire childhood was concentrated in the Garda dolphinarium, until, in 2013, the British owner of the park, Merlin , declared itself unfavorable to the maintenance of dolphins. The decision ended with the transfer of Mia and her parents to the Genoa aquarium, where her elder sister, Naù, and a male named Teide, were already waiting for them, both transferred from Palablù the previous year.
Three years later, on 19 October 2017, Mia was transferred to another park: the Oltremare in Riccione, for reasons related solely to reproduction and genetic diversity since, in 2014 and 2015, at the Genoa Aquarium two other dolphins were born.
Mia's integration into the new dolphin group proved to be a real success. According to the trainers, Mia reacted very positively to her new home and also to the trainers themselves, proving curious and very cooperative.
How to recognize Mia
- The rostrum is short but well pronounced.
- The sickle-shaped dorsal fin is slightly bent forward.
- His build is small but at the same time a bit stout.
- Its caudal fin has only one small notch on the left side.
Mia is the youngest dolphin and her desire to learn is uncontrollable. She has a very curious and outgoing personality and likes to play and interact with people. The trainers call her a little rebel, but it's nice to see how Mia is building her character.
