Marco is a male bottlenose dolphin born on July 28, 1998 at Boudewijn SeaPark, Belgium. His parents are Roxanne and Tex. At the age of three, on January 16, 2001, he was transferred to the ZooMarine Algarve, Portugal, where he lived until August 2005, and was then transferred again to the ZooMarine Torvaianica, near Rome.

Although Marco has never acquired a real dominant male position, as it is covered by another adult male named King, also originally from the ZooMarine Algarve, his first daughter was born on October 18, 2019 and was called "Maya". The little girl's mother was alleged to be Quina.
